Project Won - St Benedicts Church, Haltham on Bain

19 FEBRUARY 2015

Architects Anderson & Glenn recently appointed CEL Limited to restore the beautiful yet simple Norman Church of St Benedicts, Haltham on Bain, Lincolnshire on behalf of The Churches Conservation Trust.

The church is listed grade 1 and is sited in a rural location, within the churchyard there is a medieval cross that is itself an ancient scheduled monument.

The church contains work from the Norman period and is otherwise medieval with restorations from 1880 and 1891. The internal woodwork is of considerable interest and quality, the bell turret boarding has a painted Royal Coat of Arms of King Charles l.

The current restoration works are to include extensive repairs to the timber bell tower structure and roof, masonry repairs, slating, decorating, rainwater goods and glazing.

Please check our Case Studies page for a full review of the project later this year.
