St Peter's R.C High School, Religious Education Centre, Manchester

Project Overview

Client: St Peter's R.C High School

Location: Manchester

Architect: Bate & Taylor Architects

Contractor: Construction Partnership UK Ltd

Value: £40,000

Programme: 6 weeks

Description: Install 0.8mm VM Quartz to Roofs and Fascia including VM Quartz Rain water pipes. Install Sarnafil fleece back membrane to two gutters.

Due to the length of the roof slopes it was not possible to install the roof trays in one piece and therefore a cross welt had to be introduced. A meeting was held on site with the architects prior to the installation to discuss the position of the cross welt to ensure that all parties were happy and that the tray length could be achieved with the proposed solution. A staggered pattern was the preferred choice and this is what was then relayed to the fitters on site.

With this being an extension to an existing school, the project has the usual restraints - restrictions on deliveries, keeping noise to a minimum and storage restrictions. With this and the weather conditions playing a part, (installed during the winter months), the project was still completed within the programme and under budget.
